For engines which are marked as eligible to the 5 Year Extended Warranty Program you would have the opportunity to extending the Factory Warranty up to 5 Year provided that the below conditions are fulfilled:
- The engine is warranty registered by one of the Mercury Authorized Dealers.
- The Pre-Delivery inspection is performed by one of the Mercury Authorized Dealers and documented in our database at the time of the product delivery.
- The engine maintenance is performed by an Authorized Mercury Dealer according with the maintenance schedule and at least every year within the registration date recurrence.
- If the above mentioned steps have been properly accomplished, at the end of the Factory Warranty coverage, the system will check the events in our database, and if they will be fulfilled, it will grant an additional year warranty at a time up to 5 year total.
The total period of warranty is factory-backed and give the same comprehensive warranty coverage as Mercury Marine standard manufacturer warranty (including labor) for failures caused by defect in material or workmanship. The extended 5-year warranty qualify the engine to be repaired by either repairing or replacing parts with a proven defect of material or workmanship under normal use and during the applicable warranty period. All parts replaced under warranty will be considered as part of the original product and any warranty on those parts will expire coincidentally with the original product warranty. For full details on the warranty coverage and exclusions please refer to the factory warranty policy and conditions which are set out in your Operation and Maintenance Manual (ref. to “Warranty Information”).
Provided that the extended Warranty conditions have been met, the additional warranty becomes effective when the standard factory limited warranty expires. The extended warranty will terminate upon failure to meet any of the extended warranty conditions.
Unexpired warranty coverage can be transferred to a subsequent purchaser upon proper re-registration of the product.
